The Seventeenth Day - A Rumour Out of Zaikhal - Teaser - Event Page
"Then send it to someone who reads it, and stop bringing it to me."

The town criers have been passing a story along out of Zaikhal, and it has travelled far enough now to be worth repeating. Two scribes were overheard in the library there, arguing across a table over a scrap of paper. One of them had been handed it by an adventurer and could make nothing of it. Burnt along one edge, he said, and cold to hold, colder than a room in Zaikhal has any business making a thing.

The other looked at it once and set it down again. "That is Dericostian," she said. "I do not read Dericostian. One of us in this city does, and it is not me, and it is not you."

She did say one thing more, and the criers have kept that part, because it is the part that travels. She had read enough of the hand to know the writer was nowhere near Zaikhal when he set it down. "This is Sho country," she said. "Whatever he was walling up, he was walling it up under the Sho lands, and he was in no hurry about it."

The first scribe asked what he was supposed to say to the next one who walked in holding a piece of paper. "Tell them there is more than one piece," she said. "Tell them to go and find the rest of it, and to bring all of it here, and not to come back until they have."

If you are carrying something you cannot read, the criers say Zaikhal is where you take it.

A woman has come down the road into Arwic. She is tired, she will not say where from, and she says the same things more than once. The Gurog have come up out of the ground near the Burun's tainted place, and they are not wandering; they are guarding. Whatever Eirlys was warning about has begun.

The Seventeenth Day runs until 17 September 2026. There is no quest to accept and nothing to turn in. Speak to the woman in Arwic, and be careful what you carry when you do.

She had made it out. How, she could not have said. She remembered a thing, clearly, the way one remembers a face, and could not have told you whether it had happened yesterday or was going to happen tomorrow.

The cold has come early to Dereth, and not for the first time. A woman has come down the road into Arwic and will not say where from; a warning has been torn in three and hidden in deep places; and the scholars of Zaikhal have opened a file they closed when it last thawed. Read the teaser.

The Seventeenth Day is the first live event on this world. It runs from 27 August to 17 September 2026, across several play nights rather than one evening. There is no quest to accept and nothing to turn in.

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the end of our support for Asheron's Call and Asheron’s Call 2, and will close both services on January 31st, 2017.

This decision did not come easy, and we know this is disappointing for many of you. This game is a labor of love, and it's not easy for us to bring it to an end.

We have had a phenomenally long run; one of the longest in the world of MMORPGs, and that in and of itself is a spectacular feat. We are proud of our legacy, and the entire Asheron's Call team has been honored to adventure with you for nearly twenty years. We thank you very much for being a part of it.

It’s been an amazing run. You’ve done Asheron Realaidain proud.

Between now and January 31st, 2017, the game will remain available to play, completely free, for any player currently with an account. New account creation will be disabled.

Upcoming Web Site Data Center Migration - Monday, March 14th link
We are in the process of preparing to move Asheronscall.com to our new data center. What this means for you is that sometime around 9:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) on Monday, March 14th we will temporarily close the AC forums to posting, so that we can copy the data over to the new data center, do some checks on it, and then reopen the forums to posting. It's possible the web site may be unavailable for a while as this work is being done.

When the web site is reopened, you should simply see the ability to post in the forums, and that's that. However, some Internet Service Providers may take some time for the new DNS information to propagate, so if you run into an issue, you can clear your browser cache, or, if you are technically savvy enough to want to do it, open up a command prompt on your computer and type ipconfig /dnsflush. This would be something you could choose to do after we reopen the web site on Monday. Eventually, all ISPs will have updated their DNS information, so regardless of whether you take these steps, things should "just work".

Weekly Asheron's Call 1 & 2 Restarts - Tuesdays, 8:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) link
Asheron's Call 1 and 2 game servers undergo a world restart every Tuesday morning starting around 8:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) to promote the general health of the game worlds. We have not typically announced these every week, but want to post this announcement to hopefully clear up the occasional confusion that players experience when they attempt to log in during our weekly restart.
